 A Charleston-area interior designer known for creating thoughtful, livable spaces that balance beauty, function, and ease. Her work is rooted in a deep understanding of how people experience their homes — how spaces flow, how they support daily routines, and how meaningful design choices can quietly transform the way a home feels.

Michelle’s creative foundation began with formal study in fine art and mass communications at North Georgia College and Francis Marion University, shaping both her aesthetic sensibility and her ability to communicate ideas with clarity and intention. She later completed an accredited interior design certification program with The Charleston School of Interior Design, where she honed her approach to space planning, materials, and residential interiors.

Her background in marketing, flooring, interior design, and community advocacy gives her a uniquely well-rounded perspective. Michelle approaches each project holistically, considering proportion, movement, light, and the emotional experience of a space — always prioritizing comfort, longevity, and thoughtful use of existing furnishings and collections.

Michelle lives in North Charleston with her husband, Andrew, and is deeply invested in the future of her growing community. She serves on the Board of Directors for Charleston Moves, advocating for safer, more connected streets and a more accessible Lowcountry.

Outside the studio, she enjoys creating art, RV camping, volunteering, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and exploring Charleston’s dining scene — often by bike.

Thoughtful, design-driven, and client-focused, Michelle helps people reconnect with their homes and envision what’s possible when spaces truly support the way they live.

The name “Ubu&Company” is a playful nod to Michelle’s maiden name, Huber. While in college, a friend nicknamed her “Ubu” after Alfred Jarry’s French play, Ubu Roi, a witty, unconventional story that mirrors Michelle’s approach to interiors: thoughtful, personal, and just a touch whimsical.

In addition to full-service and virtual design work, Michelle offers staging consultations for homeowners and other real estate professionals, providing an elevated, livable approach to presentation that highlights the best features of a home without compromising authenticity.
